Metaphor I learned a while back
That life is just a metaphor
For death.

I learned long ago
That cold is just a metaphor
For hot.

I learned recently
That love is just a metaphor
For hate.

I've yet to learn
That everything
Is just a metaphor,
For nothing.

I know now
That everything is just a metaphor
For something else.
The Person Who Loved Love. The world seemed to move slower, and I faster, when I had my love; a love so deep it could not be taken from me by anything, not even the gift we call 'death', for I will carry this love to my grave, even when the deep red blood of my veins ceases to flow.  When the world no longer spins for me, and my eyes no longer open, this love will stay in my heart; nothing can tear it from my soul.  My body can rot, my eyes can be pecked by the crows of the field, and yet, my love, my love of love, will continue to lie in the deepest part of my heart.

Like a bouncing ball.

Is just the start,
Of all the pain,
That comes from being dropped
Just like a glass.

So I can remember,
How it feels,
To be heartbroken.

To stop the bleeding.

Six bullets to the heart,
Just like that,
It happened so fast,
There's nothing I can do,
Except always remember you.
Shattered And Fixed Again She makes my heart stop,
She makes my blood run cold,
But all I ask for
Is her hand to hold.

She makes my body turn to sand,
She makes it hard for me to stand.
She asks nothing of me,
Yet I yield to her every demand.

My love for her is undying,
While my heart, for her, is untying.

I stand in defeat,
My soul shattered like glass,
While she whispers in my ear
And re-gathers my mass.

The sound is so sweet,
The sound of defeat.
It lets me know who I really am,
As well as who I ought to be.

My head melts like butter,
My words are slurred,
But I continue on
Undeterred.

She heals the wound,
Taking my hand,
While I make one

Moth Dust

Light.
So bright, so attracting.
Fly.
Closer. Closer. Closer still...
There.
Shiny.
I want to touch it. To feel it. To taste it, feel it on my small tongue; the soft, mellow taste of light...
I get too close and I hit it. It's hard, not soft like it should be.
It pushes me back.
Too late. I'm entranced. No stopping me now.
I move towards it again. I have to taste it. I know it's delicious. That's why it hides behind that shield.
